FAQ

Server-side GTM, answered

No. Any advertiser losing measurement to ad-blockers and browser tracking limits benefits — which is most of them. We size the server so the cost fits an SMB budget.

It won't, and it shouldn't. Server-side GTM is consent-aware: it only forwards what the user has agreed to. It recovers signal you're legitimately allowed to measure — not signal you aren't.

They're complementary. Consent Mode v2 lets Google model the conversions consent hides; server-side GTM recovers the observed conversions that ad-blockers and ITP strip out. Together they close most of the measurement gap a correct consent setup opens.

Both work. Cloud Run gives you full control and tends to be cheaper at scale; stape is faster to stand up and manage. We recommend based on your traffic, budget and how hands-on you want to be.
